Summer Series for Kids and Teens

Looking for something fun and educational for your kids to do this summer? Learning to cook delicious food is a rewarding and enriching experience that will benefit kids over their lifetimes! 

Each class features a unique menu created by Chef Linda. Attendees will prepare several dishes and then eat them for lunch afterward. In order provide exceptional attention to each student we limit class size to 6 for the kids classes and 8 for teen classes.

Classes are $69 each. Enroll a child in a series and save 10%.

Each class session runs from 9 am to 12 pm. After the program concludes, you'll receive an email with recipes and tips, so your child can recreate the dishes at home.

General Information for All Classes

Registration Deadline: Enrollment at least 48 hours prior to each class series is required, so we have enough food and staff for the program. 

Kids in Teen Classes and Vice Versa: If you have children that fall into different age groups and would like them to attend class together, please call to discuss. It is possible if the potential students are near the cutoff age points and particularly if their school grade placement is consistent with the class age group in which they wish to participate. Please be centain that the student is comfortable with either older or younger classmates.

Enrollment Confirmation: After completing your purchase, you will receive an order confirmation email with a link in the footer that gives directions, a special phone number if you need navigation help,  and other information.

What do I need to bring? We provide all the ingredients, tools,  aprons and recipes during the class, and ask parents to pack a water bottle. All students must be wearing kitchen appropriate attire, meaning no open toed shoes; hair tied back, and comfortable shoes (they will be standing for a good part of the class). If your child is a picky eater, we recommend you provide a few healthy snacks (just in case).

Please plan to arrive 15 minutes before the start of class. There is ample on-site parking in the driveway if you would like to accompany your child into the kitchen before class begins.

Lunch/Snacks: Students will eat the food prepared in class as a lunch. In baking classes, a snack will be provided, and students will take home the baked goods. If your child is a picky eater, we recommend you provide a few healthy snacks just in case.

Allergies: Accommodations for allergies depends on the nature and the severity of the allergy. We do not recommend that children with severe nut allergies be enrolled. We occasionally use nuts in recipes, and while we are careful about cross contamination, this is not a nut-free facility. We can accommodate gluten sensitivity but the Kitchen is not a gluten-free facility.

Vegetarian Options: Do you offer vegetarian options for all programs? Yes, there is always a vegetarian option. We do cook meat in the kitchen and in some of the classes. If your child is a vegetarian and would like to attend camp, they may be around other students preparing meat, but do not have to prepare or eat it themselves.

After Class Pickup: Children can be picked up at the Kitchen entrance by you or someone you designate on the registration form. Anyone picking up a child will be required to show a picture ID. Classes end at noon; aftercare is not available. 

Refunds/Cancellation: If you have registered your child for one or more of the Mindful Cuisine cooking class programs and need to cancel for whatever reason, you must do so at least 2 weeks before the program begins in order to receive a full refund. If you cancel at least 1 week before the program begins, you will receive a 50% refund. There is no refund forstudent illness, missed days, vacations, or dismissal from the program, once the program commences. The ingredients and staffing necessary will have already been purchased and scheduled for your child's place in the class. In that case, program fees will be refunded in full.
