I miss the delicious Chinese and south East Asian style dumplings so readily available in California. I decided to teach myself to make them. So excited to find Andrea Nguyen’s book Asian Dumplings. This is potstickers recipe with cabbage, shrimp & chicken (recipe called for pork but I had chicken thighs). I made the wrappers too! Served with some seared royal trumpet mushrooms & spicy dipping sauce. Very causal family dinner. Baking bread - I haven’t baked bread since summer when it was warm and starter regularly climbed out of the has and made a giant mess it I was there to take care of it. A most unruly pet. Cauliflower & Sardines - I can’t believe I am saying this but it is one of the best things I have ever eaten. My friend Suni of the Oil & Vinegar Junction is selling these beautiful packages of tinned seafood. As beautiful as the packages are, the idea of “canned” is not too appealing to me. Well I decided to give it a try. Crispy cauliflower, roasted garlic oil, Aleppo pepper, caper & piquing peppers & tinned sardines of course! So good plus lots of omega 3’s & calcium. Air fried gochujang chicken wings - I bought a new toaster oven about a year ago. It had an air fry setting which I never thought I would use. I have a friend who has an Air Frier that she thinks is amazing. Not being a fan of single use appliances, I told her I thought I was ridiculous, however I decided to give my Air Frying toaster oven a try. Made these pretty fantastic chicken wings in 20 minutes plus sauce making.
